Itinerary
Day 1 : Delhi – Haridwar
Upon your arrival at Delhi Airport or Railway Station, our representative will warmly greet you. You will then be transferred to your vehicle for the journey to Haridwar. Once you arrive, check-in at the hotel, complete the necessary formalities, and freshen up. In the evening, you'll have the opportunity to witness the famous Ganga aarti at Har ki Pauri. If time permits, you can also visit the Mansa Devi Temple. Afterwards, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Haridwar is known as the "gateway to the almighty Lord," with "Hari Ka Dwar" meaning the same. It is deeply associated with Lord Vishnu and is considered a highly auspicious place, radiating divine power and spirituality. Situated along the banks of the River Ganges, it holds great significance as one of the holiest destinations for events like the Kumbh Mela. Har ki Pauri, especially, is revered, as it is believed to be consecrated by the Saint god Bharathi and King Vikarma (associated with Vikram Vetal). Visiting Haridwar at least once is a must for anyone seeking spiritual enrichment.
Day 2 : Haridwar – Sitapur/Guptakshi)
After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, check-out will be at 8 AM. Then, we'll head towards Sitapur/Guptakashi via Rudraprayag. Along the way, we'll stop at Devprayag, one of the Panch Prayag, and visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptkashi. The drive will be truly memorable as we pass through the stunning Himalayan Hills and alongside the sacred Ganges river. Upon reaching Sitapur/Guptakashi, we'll check in at the hotel for an overnight stay with dinner.
Guptakashi is situated at an elevation of 1,319 meters (4,327 ft) in the Kedar-Khanda region, holding immense significance in Hinduism. It's renowned for two ancient temples: the Vishwanath temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and a temple where Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Ardhnarishwar form. This town also has strong connections with the Mahabharata era and the Pandavas. According to legends, after the Mahabharata battle, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva for their actions, leading them to this sacred place.
The weather in Guptkashi is quite pleasant during the summer season, with temperatures ranging between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. However, winters can be extremely cold, so be prepared for chilly weather during that time.
Day 3 : Sitapur/Guptkashi – Kedarnath
As per the reporting time provided by the Helicopter Company, we'll depart from the hotel and drive to the Helipad at Guptkashi, Phata, or Sersi for Shri Kedarnath Ji. After a 15-minute flight, we'll arrive at the helipad near Kedarnath Ji. There, we'll have the opportunity to have a darshan, perform pooja, and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Take some time to soak in the serene atmosphere around the temple. You can choose to stay overnight at Kedarnath Ji or return to Sitapur/Guptakshi for accommodation.
Kedarnath is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, holding immense importance among Hindus. The name "Kedar" refers to Lord Shiva. According to various sculptures, after the Pandavas' victory in the Mahabharata Battle, they sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva for killing their own cousins. Lord Shiva, initially angry with them, took the form of a bull. However, Bhim recognized him and attempted to stop him from disappearing into the ground. During this process, the hump of the bull remained above ground, forming the Shivalinga at Kedarnath.
The weather in Kedarnath is generally cold throughout the year due to its high altitude. Even in summer, temperatures rarely exceed 20 degrees Celsius, making it quite pleasant. However, during winter, temperatures can drop to 0 degrees Celsius or lower, so be prepared for severe cold if visiting during that time.
Day 4 : Kedarnath – Sitapur – Badrinath
Option 1: If you stay in Kedarnath, you'll start your day with an early morning check-out from the hotel and head to the helipad. From there, you'll board a helicopter back to Sersi/Guptakashi/Phata Helipad. Then, you'll transfer to a vehicle and embark on an 8-9 hour journey to Badrinath Ji, covering 190 kilometres. Along the way, you'll visit the winter abode of Kedarnath Ji at Ukhimath and marvel at the majestic Himalayan hills. Upon reaching Badrinath Ji, you can take a dip in the Tapt Kund and proceed for the darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in the evening. Don't miss the opportunity for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus) at Brahamakapal. You'll also have the chance to explore other attractions like Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River, all within 3 kilometres of Badrinath Ji. Finally, check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Option 2: If you return from Kedarnath on the same day, you'll start your morning with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Then, you'll proceed to Badrinath, covering 190 kilometres over 8-9 hours. Along the way, you'll visit the winter abode of Kedarnath Ji at Ukhimath and enjoy the scenic views of the hills and the majestic Ganges. Upon arrival at Badrinath Ji, you'll have the opportunity to take a dip in the Tapt Kund and participate in the evening darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti. Similar to Option 1, you'll also have the chance to explore other nearby attractions. Finally, check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Badrinath: Located near the Alaknanda River, the highly auspicious Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and holds immense importance in Hinduism. Perched at a height of 10,279 feet, the temple is surrounded by the lofty snow-clad Himalayas, adding to its breathtaking beauty. The temple was established by Adi Sankaracharya and features the Tapt Kund, known for its medicinal properties. The Alaknanda River originates from here, nestled between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges.
Tapt Kund: Situated on the bank of the Alaknanda river near the Badrinarayan temple, the Tapt Kund is a Sulphur Kund believed to be the manifestation of Agni Dev, blessed by Lord Vishnu.
Mana Village: Known as the last village of India, Mana Village is a must-visit destination near Badrinath. It offers trekking opportunities and is home to famous caves like the Vyas cave, with historical and religious significance.
Vasundhara: The Vasundhara waterfall, located 5 kilometres from Mana Village, is believed to divert away any evil deeds committed by individuals.
Bhim Pul: This stone bridge over the Saraswati River dates back to the Mahabharata period and is associated with Bheem, one of the Pandavas.
Vyas Gufa: This cave is believed to be the place where Maharshi Vyas composed the Mahabharata, with Lord Ganesha as the scribe.
Badrinath Weather: During summer, temperatures range between 8 to 18 degrees Celsius, making it an ideal time for a visit. However, winters bring heavy snowfall and temperatures dropping to 0 to 5 degrees Celsius, resulting in the closure of the site for tourists.
Day 5: Badrinath – Rudraprayag/Srinagar
Start your day by seeking blessings at Shree Badrinath Ji and having a darshan. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Rudraprayag/Srinagar via Joshimath. En route, visit the Narsing Temple and the winter abode of Badrinath Ji at Joshimath. Continue your journey, stopping at Nand Prayag and Karna Prayag. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Joshimath: Also known as Jyotirmath, Joshimath is a hill town located at 6150 meters in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Established by Adi Guru Sankaracharya in the 8th century, it serves as the winter home of Lord Badri, where the idol of Lord Badri is shifted from Badrinath during the winter months.
Rudraprayag: Situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, Rudraprayag is a revered pilgrimage site among Hindus. The scenic beauty of this place, coupled with its religious significance, makes it a popular destination for travellers.
Rudraprayag Weather: The summer season experiences very hot temperatures ranging between 35 to 40 degrees Celsius, making it less favourable for visits. However, winter offers pleasant daytime weather with temperatures between 5 to 20 degrees Celsius, making it the ideal time for touring.
Day 6 : Rudraprayag/Srinagar – Haridwar
After enjoying breakfast, it's time to check out from the hotel and head to Rudraprayag to witness the Sangam, where the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers merge. From there, we'll proceed to Haridwar to conclude our spiritual journey. Along the way, we'll stop at the Dhari Devi Temple, Dev Prayag (one of the Panch Prayag), and Rishikesh. Upon reaching Haridwar, we'll check into the hotel for an overnight stay.
Rishikesh is a holy place known for its adventurous activities, ancient temples, and stunning natural beauty. It's renowned as the Yoga capital of the world and hosts the international yoga festival annually. Situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and the confluence of the holy Ganga and Chandrabhaga rivers, Rishikesh offers activities like White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Flying Fox, and Mountain Biking. Day 7 : Haridwar – Delhi
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the morning, we'll leave Haridwar and begin our journey back to Delhi to conclude our divine pilgrimage. Once we arrive in Delhi, you'll be dropped off at your desired location to continue with your onward journey.
